Lessons for Adults
ADULT LESSONS
VOICE LESSONS
Singing is a fantastic shortcut to feeling grounded and embodied. Whether you’re looking to release tension, build confidence, hone your technique, expand your range, or relieve gender dysphoria, I’ve got you covered!
I work with adult students of all ability levels, including:
Trans Voice Alteration Lesson
Total beginners (potential goals: learn to sing in tune, sing a song at karaoke, sing in the shower without feeling self conscious)
Folks with some experience or who may be returning to singing after some time off (potential goals: strengthen your singing technique, build confidence in your ability, gain more control over your instrument)
Experienced singers (potential goals: get a good vocal workout, prepare for an audition, strengthen your technique and expand your range)
Trans and gender non-conforming folks
Adapt to HRT-related voice changes (potential goals: release strain and tension in your voice, ease cracking and re-access your high range, find a more comfortable, new key for you to sing your favorite songs)
Learn to feminize or masculinize your speaking voice (potential goals: get misgendered less on the phone, alleviate dysphoria, determine your target range and shape your ideal voice)
PIANO LESSONS
I teach piano to students from beginning to intermediate levels.
Total beginners (potential goals: learn to read music, develop piano technique, learn to play songs in different styles)
Intermediate players with some musical background (potential goals: brush up on or expand your music theory knowledge, learn about triads and seventh chords, challenge yourself to play new pieces, learn to accompany yourself)
SONGWRITING, PRODUCTION & MUSIC THEORY
Interested in setting up a home studio and learning to record your own music? Or maybe you’d like to write your own songs but don’t know where to start. I’ll help you get started!
Want to learn to write or arrange your own music? I teach in Ableton Live and ProTools. (Potential goals: create an original composition or arrangement on Ableton Live, write a song and record it, add instrumentation on ProTools)
Learn how to analyze any song using music theory and apply this knowledge to make your own songs sound better!
